Golden Arrows shrugged off being 1-0 down at halftime to force a 1-1 draw away to SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership.
SuperSport showed their authority early on, pressing the visitors and were unfortunate not to have a penalty call going their way after Ghampa Lungu was brought down in the opening minute.
After 10 minutes, a looping free-kick from Aubrey Modiba nearly led to an opening goal but Nkosingiphile Gumede took two steps back to punch the effort over for a corner.
SuperSport soon launched another close-range attempt after playing in Lungu, but alert goalkeeping from Gumede saw him coming off his line to avert the danger.
Driving towards the half and hour spell, the amount of goal-scoring chances increasingly lowered on both sides of the coin.
But the earlier momentum construed by the three-time PSL champions were still hovering in and around the encounter amidst the lack of attacking interplay.
For Arrows, their plight in front of goal was becoming clearer with limited offensive innovations. Although a scuff shot on the turn from Lerato Lamola edged them closer on that front.
A well-hit shot from outside the box by Onismor Bhasera gave Gumede problems to handle and allowed James Keene to latch on control, bring it down and slash home from close range.
Following the second half, Abafana Besthende were forced to come out early and stage a quest for an immediate come back to the game.
In the earlier stages, Sibusiso Sibeko rushed inside the box but failed to keep composure thus ballooning over the top.
Matsatsantsa came close for a second at the other end with a curler from the right by Modiba missing the top corner.
Later on, Modiba threatened again after a cross-cum shot from Modiba rattled the top of the left-hand post.
Within seconds, Sibeko launched a spate of one-two football to tee-up Siboniso Conco at the far post for an easy tap-in to put the game level-pegging.
Momentum on their side, Arrows kept up the pressure and nearly went in front again after a long range shot from Lamola called on Ronwen Williams to punch and to gather at the second attempt.
It was lively end to the game with Conco running out wide to get on a long ball and after pulling cut back, shot straight at Williams.
Given the late pressure for the winner from SuperSport, the visitors held their ground strongly to walk away with a point.
