AmaZulu and Polokwane City played to a share of the spoils in an Absa Premiership encounter in Umlazi.
A strong start found Emiliano Tade releasing Thembela Sikhakhane to take a shot from a wide angle, but sadly missed the target.
A great cross from out wide connected perfectly with Siyabonga Nomvethe who rose to meet it at the back post but sadly failed to get it on target.
Tade’s good improvisation from a body of defenders resulted in a snap shot from the edge of the area which sailed narrowly wide of goal.
Polokwane engineered their first opening as Salulani Phiri headed off target following a high corner to the box.
Usuthu made a substitution for subsequent tactical reasons, as Butholezwe Ncube came on for Nhlanhla Vilakazi after 36 minutes.
It was left for the second half, with which Polokwane enjoyed with the opening chance courtesy of Mohamed Anas setting up Vusi Mngomezulu who shot wide.
The crossbar then denied Usuthu from the lead as Bonginkosi Ntuli directed Marc Van Heerden’s cross to the top of the crossbar.
A flurry of late chances at both ends saw City going close to the winner through Peter Wagaba, but Siyabonga Mbatha’s heroics came out trumps.
Then, it was left to substitute Ovidy Karuru who found himself at the end of a through pass from Tade but King Ndlovu rushed off his line to keep him out for a fair share of the spoils.
