The big decision was which club he would join ahead of the new campaign and he ended up making his way to Chloorkop rather than Naturena. And so far he does not regret the decision.

He had to wait before getting a chance to play while also trying to familiarise himself with Sundowns' playing style. The 26-year-old has played six matches in all competitions now and looks set to start again when Sundowns take on log leaders Orlando Pirates at Loftus Stadium on Saturday (15h30).

He explained why he chose to join the Brazilians.

"I felt that there are more chances of winning trophies here. Yes, they [Chiefs] were interested. You also have to look at playing-time. Playing-time is the most important and obviously winning as well. It does not make sense to be getting game-time and you are not winning," Lebusa tells

"I also had to look at which team is going to make me a better person. There's a lot of good players and you have to up your game. In a way it's going to raise your game. They [Chiefs] were serious, but at the end of the day the decision is mine and I ended up coming here. It's not easy, but I think I made the right decision."

Chiefs missed out on Lebusa and signed his former central defensive partner at Ajax Mario Booysen, who is still finding his feet at Amakhosi.
