Chelsea advanced to the last 32 of the Europa League with victory in Belarus, while Steven Gerrard's Rangers suffered defeat at Spartak Moscow.

Akhisarspor 2-3 Sevilla

Sevilla maintained top spot in Group J with a 3-2 win over Akhisarspor.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead thanks to first-half strikes from Nolito and Lucas Muriel.

Akhisarspor hit back in the second half, firstly through Elvis Manu in the 52nd minute and then Onur Ayik in the 78th minute.

However, the LaLiga outfit secured the winning goal three minutes before time, with Ever Banega converting from the penalty spot.

Spartak Moscow 4-3 Rangers

Rangers' hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages took a dent after they suffered a 4-3 defeat away to Spartak Moscow.

Goals from Lorenzo Melgarejo, Luiz Adriano, Sofiane Hanni and an own goal from Connor Goldson secured a win for Moscow.

Steven Gerrard's Rangers have dropped to third in Group G, while the Russsian outfit moved up to second.

BATE 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea advanced to the last 32 of the competition after defeating BATE Borisov in Belarus.

The game's only goal arrived shortly after the halftime break as Oliver Giroud nodded home Emerson's cross.

Lazio 2-1 Marseille

Lazio edged closer to securing a spot in the last 32 following a 2-1 victory over Olympique Marseille at the Stadio Olimpico.

Marco Parolo and Joaquin Correa put the the home side ahead, while Florian Thuavin netted a consolation.
