Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebogang Phiri's Guingamp side shocked French giants Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princess to advance to the semi-final of the Coupe De La Ligue.
Phiri, 24, has endured a difficult 2018/19 campaign in France thus far with the Ligue 1 strugglers and fell out of favour upon the sacking of manager Antoine Kombouaré, who brought him to the club from Danish giants Brondby.
However, the six-time capped South Africa international was recently reinstated into the first XI, which saw Guingamp end there nine-match winless run in the French top-flight with a victory over Thierry Henry's AS Monaco.
Phiri's composed display as a deep-lying-playmaker saw him retain his place against PSG last night, who started with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and captain Thiago Silva.
And their illustrious opposition were left shocked as Neymar's opening goal just after the hour mark was cancelled out by penalties from Yeni Ngbakoto and Marcus Thuram respectively.
Phiri featured in the full 90-minutes as his side ended PSG's 49-match domestic cup unbeaten run, which saw them lift the League Cup title for the past five consecutive seasons.
GEA now advance to the semi-final of the prestigious tournament and Phiri will be hoping that his display will convince manager Jocelyn Gourvennec to now view him as first-team regular.
Guingamp's next fixture will be an against sixth-placed AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday as they look to climb away from the foot of the table.
