Putsche arrived in Cape Town upon the inception of The Citizens in July 2016 from Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC on a three-year deal.
Thus, the 27-year-old effectively became a free agent in January, with his contract set to expire in June this year.
With nearly 80 PSL appearances to his name, City boss John Comitis has opted to retain Putsche for a further two years as they look to continue their successful relationship.
The midfield enforcer has lifted the Telkom Knockout and MTN8 trophies with the club, and remains on course to add the Nedbank Cup to his cabinet after they cruised past SuperSport United in the opening round on Saturday.
