Borussia Dortmund dropped points on home soil, while Bayern Munich registered a 3-1 victory over Schalke in Saturday's Bundesliga action.

Borussia Dortmund 3-3 Hoffenheim

Borussia Dortmund’s lead at the top of the table was cut to just five points after they threw away a comfortable three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

Jadon Sancho and Mario Gotze gave Dortmund put Dortmund 2-0 before the halftime break and Raphael Guerreiro made it 3-0 in the 66th minute.

The league leaders capitulated in the last quarter of an hour as Ishak Belfodil pulled a goal back for Hoffenheim in the 75th minute while Pavel Kaderabek made it 3-2 seven minutes before time, while Belfodil completed the comeback three minutes before time with his second of the day.

Bayern Munich 3-1 Schalke

Bayern Munich closed the gap on leaders Borussia Dortmund to just five points after dispatching Schalke 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Bayern got the opener in the 11th minute thanks to an own goal by Jeffrey Bruma but Schalke levelled matters in the 25th minute through Ahmed Kutucu.

The celebrations were short-lived though as Robert Lewandowski restored for the hosts lead two minutes later and Serge Gnabry sealed the three points three minutes before the hour.

Borussia Monchengladbach 0-3 Hertha Berlin

Borussia Monchengladbach’s title hopes were dented with a 3-0 defeat against Hertha Berlin on Saturday afternoon.

Monchengladbach missed the chance to move within five points of leaders Borussia Dortmund as Salomon Kalou, Ondrej Duda and Davie Selke netted for Hertha.

Freiburg 3-3 Wolfsburg

Freiburg and Wolfsburg played out to a thrilling six-goal blitz after drawing 3-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Jerome Roussillon opened the scoring for Wolfsburg but Vincenzo Grifo equalised for the hosts eight minutes before the break.

Wout Weghorst restored the lead for the visitors in the 63rd minute from the penalty spot before Nils Petersen brought Freiburg back to the game 20 minutes before time. Renato Steffen thought he had netted the winner for Wolfsburg in the 74th minute but Freiburg came back for the third time to net through Gian-Luca Waldschmidt three minutes before time.

Hannover 2-0 Nürnberg

Hannover boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over fellow basement side ten-man Nürnberg on Saturday afternoon.

Nürnberg got off to a bad start as Simon Rhein received a straight red carded in the 11th minute for a dangerous tackle and Hannover took advantage through Nicolai Muller who netted a brace to secure three points for the hosts.

RB Leipzig 0-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt could not be seperated as they played to a goalless draw on Saturday afternoon at Red Bull Arena.

Frankfurt ended Leipzig’s three game winning run following the stalemate while the visitors played to their third successive draw in the league.
