Juventus got back to winning ways in Serie A to open up an 11-point lead at the top with a 3-0 drubbing of Sassuolo on Sunday evening.
Sassuolo nearly took a 14th-minute lead following a scorching shot from outside the box by Manuel Locatelli, but Wojciech Szczesny palmed off the danger.
For all their pressing, it was Juve who got their noses in front when Sami Khedira tapped home a rebound off Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike on 24 minutes.
Closer to halftime, Domenico Berardi’s first-time volley from a corner flashed over the top after Juve failed to clear lines.
Khedira missed a golden chance to bag a brace when he nodded a cross from Federico Bernardeschi wide of the mark, with the latter’s earlier effort palmed away by Andrea Consigli.
Juve missed another good chance to go two up when Daniele Rugani headed a floating ball into the box wide early in the second half.
A howler from Szczesny gifted Berardi an opportunity to profit with a gaping goal; however the Italian’s shot went past the net on 55 minutes.
Massimiliano Allegri opted for his first substitution at the midway stage, with Khedira making room for Rodrigo Bentancur.
After seeing his earlier strike rebuffed, Ronaldo beat Consigli from a corner to guide in his 18th of the campaign in the final 20 minutes.
A minute after replacing Blaise Matuidi, Emre Can latched onto a pass from Paul Dybala to send a low shot past Consigli to round off an impressive away victory.
Juve’s next meeting comes on Friday evening against relegation-threatened Frosinone at the Juventus stadium.
