Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has highlighted the importance of unity in his squad as the Brazilians chase both the Absa Premiership and CAF Champions League titles.
Sundowns are leading the domestic league race at the moment and go into their final Champions League group match this weekend on top of the standings, having already booked their place in the quarterfinals.
Mosimane wants to make full use of his star-studded squad to ensure Sundowns handle the tight schedule they have for the remaining couple of months of the season.
Managing the squad with players who are all eager to play will also be important for the former Bafana Bafana coach.
“We need to listen to the players and the technical team, it's not an ego thing, I might be a coach, but I have to respect people I work with. We need to be honest to each other,” Mosimane said after Downs’ 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United on Tuesday.
"The only challenge we might have, which is good stress, is players who are hungry and want to play every game. We need to be careful, rotating them will be good for us as we want to use everyone, especially [those] who are in a good spirit, a winning mindset."
Mosimane was asked about the reception they might get in Morocco when they face Wydad Casablanca on Saturday. Sundowns have played Wydad in two of the last Champions League editions.
"It’s never been easy, we've been getting tough treatment, nothing new. Everywhere we go it’s very tough, but what can you say? It’s African football problems, we can only hope for change. It's 2019, we can do better as a continent."
