Mamelodi Sundowns shift focus to Wydad Casablanca in CAF Champions League

Pitso Mosimane is leaving no stone unturned to make sure Mamelodi Sundowns beat Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League in Morocco on Saturday.

The Brazilians face Wydad at the Stade Mohamed V having already qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Lobi Stars 3-0 at home, but Mosimane wants his team maintain top spot in Group A.

"The last match against Wydad is an important match because you must understand that it's three points between us [and them] so we don’t want to lose at Wydad," said Mosimane.

"We must try to keep being on top of the log and avoid to mix up with the big boys on the left pool. I am not saying the other teams coming second on the other side are not good, because in Champions League everybody can beat anybody.

"[But] the result of Wydad [is important], I told you that the pitch is difficult to play on," he added.

Sundowns beat Wydad 2-1 in the first round of the competition at Lucas Moripe Stadium in January.
