Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela has questioned the role of referees in the Absa Premiership after his side's 1-0 win against Baroka FC on Wednesday night.
Arrows were forced to make a change after Velemseni Ndwandwe was tackled by a Baroka player, which seemed like a nasty challenge, and Komphela was not impressed by the reaction of the officials.
"As coaches we always talk about the same issues, it's a pity that we keep on losing players while we have referees who are supposed to protect them, where is the protection? Where are the officials?" he asked.
"Ndwandwe just came back after being out for a long time, now he gets this injury and it doesn't look good, it looks very bad, we hope it's not as bad as we think."
About the win, the Abafana Bes'thende coach believes it is good for them as they are looking for the top eight and he was happy that they got at least three points out of six in Limpopo.
"These three points will do good for us, we are delighted," he added. "At this stage everybody would be celebrating even one point, we would have loved to get at least four points this side but unfortunately we lost against Polokwane City."
Arrows will now prepare for their next game, which is in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals against Bloemfontein Celtic in two weeks' time due to the upcoming international break.
