Khadim Ndiaye: Senegal 2018 FIFA World Cup keeper suffers doubles leg break in CAF Champions League

Senegal goalkeeper Khadim Ndiaye will miss AFCON 2019 after Horoya AC confirmed he suffered a double leg-break during their CAF Champions League defeat to Wydad Casablanca.

Ndiaye suffered a double tibia-fibula fracture while playing in the second leg of their quarter-final in Casablanca on Saturday evening.

The 34-year-old received several minutes of treatment following a collision with teammate Boubacar Samassekou - before being taken to hospital during their 5-0 defeat.

The club confirmed on Sunday that Ndiaye had undergone surgery in Rabat and is likely to be sidelined for six-nine months.

"The results are reassuring and he will remain at the Cheick Zaidi University hospital where he will continue his recovery," Horoya said in a statement.

The 28-time capped Ndiaye made his debut for the Teranga Lions against DR Congo in 2009.
